Overall it was clean and safe and the rides are still available which is good but just doesn't seem like the same experience I experienced as a child. We offer FREE express delivery for online orders of $100 or more throughout New Zealand. Bathrooms are much improved over what Hoffman's had which is great. There is an arcade in the store area which we did not go to as well as a Subway shop that has always been there. There are still food booths and a large picnic area. I miss not having a gift shop or arcade area near the rides which added to the excitement for the kids and Huck Finn appears to be more laid back than Hoffman's which was good for my granddaughter with her sensori issues but for other children they may miss the craziness. The train ride was somewhat boring just circling the area that seems smaller than the original Hoffman's and you drive through a metal tunnel which is kind of lackluster. It was not very busy on either of the days we were there. Of course, the rides are not handicap accessible so we did have to lift our granddaughter on and off the rides and we found the young people attending the rides to be very accommodating. We found the entrance to the ticket booth to be accommodating to my granddaughter's wheelchair as was all of the pavement leading to the rides. It was our first time there since their opening and didn't know what to expect. I brought my handicapped wheelchair bound granddaughter to Huck Finn's on two occasions. So glad we didn't lose this amazing family tradition and happy to start new memories in a new location. We've been several times at night and basically had the place to ourselves. If any complaints- the city needs to repave the road. The parking lot is a decent size and there is plenty of on street parking too. The staff has been kind, helpful, and friendly! I was worried about the location but you don't hear the highway noise at all. Rides are still 1 to 2 tickets and the cost stayed the same (book of tickets for $30) and there are even two ticket windows for busy days. There are two great snack stands with reasonable prices. The new bathrooms are a HUGE improvement over the old ones. It is nicely paved and landscaped but has minimal shade. I understand that Huck Finn's will never be the same for all the nostalgic out there but they have certainly exceeded my wildest expectations and my three year old doesn't notice the differences- she just has fun! The layout is very different and on a much smaller lot but still features almost all the old favorites (no bumper cars) and the train still runs around the entire lot. I grew up with Hoffman's as a staple in my life and I've continued the tradition with my daughter.
